By Alison TurnerConnectivity and peripherals vendor, Belkin, plans to expand its channel to include sales to the small to medium enterprise (SME) sector. The company has introduced new products to coincide with the expansion, as well as a new advanced hardware replacement program. Weve always been a retail-focused company, Belkin managing director, Mike Bell, said. Weve always dabbled in the SME arena, but now were looking to grow it.
The company would maintain its exclusive distribution relationship with Ingram Micro, as well as working directly with some Ingram partners, he said. We have a strong relationship with Ingram, Bell said. We hold a lot of trust in them. Were very committed to this relationship and dont plan to bring anyone else on board.
The company has introduced new products, expanding its range to appeal to the SME corporate space. Weve never quite had the width of product in our UPS or KVM products from a corporate or SME point of view, Bell said. Were now expanding that. New products include a new enterprise range of KVM switches, which feature the ability to centrally manage servers from any location. We are currently the number two world player in the KVM space, Bell said.
Other new business-range products include wireless print servers, routers and networking solutions and enterprise-rated UPS. The company is also expanding its corporate sales team. Staff are now working in each state.
