The four-port Belkin Wireless Pre-N Router F5D8230-4 is based on Airgo Networks' chipset. Although bested in the Fastest category by the Netgear routers at most distances, the Belkin router scored an impressive 12.5 Mbps at our 160-foot test marker.

Both the router's interface and its client card setup are straightforward, letting you configure WAN connection profiles for dynamic or static IP addressing, PPoE, and PPTP links. On the LAN side, users will find an SPI firewall, DHCP server, and security settings that include MAC, WEP, and WPA with a preshared key.
