I've noticed that PNG gives you the better quality and smaller file size when using print screen to take screenshots and saving them as a PNG in Microsoft Paint. Otherwise, I use JPG for everything else.

|
| | | | | | Re: nice Don't you have to be literally glued to the CO to receive this speed?
Like other folks here, I am more concerned with the significantly lower upstream bandwidth and higher latency, as my use for the connection is much more symmetric in nature. No, it's not business, it should be symmetric, as I need to synchronize files among a few computers, and operate one remotely from the other.
|
| | | | | | | Re: nice I've seen services offered for symmetric. You might try to find a small local-brand provider who can do that for you. You might be surprised at what you can get. In Nashville, Butler Networks (run by a guy I used to go to college with) has a lot of specialty services. Maybe there's some service like that in your local market. | |

Let's compare apples to apples here.
Once you add taxes and fees, you get 2Mbps LESS downstream and probably end up paying more.

It will be interesting to see if Cox will respond in kind and produce a faster speed tier, say 7Mbps or spread the 15Mbps tier to more Bellsouth areas, or if they are just going to roll over. -- Support "W" The one thing worse than idle hands is an idle mind.

ricep5Premium join:2000-08-07 Jacksonville, FL | BS Field Tech I spoke with a BS field tech today and he said they are having a meeting tomorrow to review the support for the new service.
I asked about the 5000 feet to CO question and he basically said it depends on how it is trunked back to the CO.
Copper to Fiber trunk, Copper to T1 trunk, or Copper to a Bundle trunk.
The first is desirable, the last is not.
If there is any 26 gauge copper between you and the trunk or CO, you can pretty much forget about it. The other trunks are dependent on the electronics installed at the trunk box.

| | | Re: BS Field Tech He was wrong. You can have 26 gauge. It doesn't matter if it is fed by fiber,copper,t1,etc.....It only matters where the dslam is placed,in the field or in the CO | |
