BellSouth Units, CWA Reach Settlement
(old news - 01:30AM Sunday Aug 05 2001)
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports this morning that BellSouth and the CWA (Communication workers of America) have reach a new contract agreement. The agreement came just prior to the August 4 midnight deadline, averting a potential walkout of some 56,000 BellSouth employees.

"`We are pleased to have reached a set of agreements that create real benefits for our employees, the company, the CWA and most of all, our customers,' said Dick Sibbernsen, vice president of Human Resources for BellSouth."

The official BellSouth Media release can be found here.
