Better 3G for Fujitsu Ultraportable Notebooks
HSUPA makes mobile uploading faster
by KathrynV Sunday 06-Jan-2008 tags: business · wireless · hardware · alternatives
Fujitsu has just announced that their Lifebook U810 super-portable mini-notebook is going to be getting faster. That’s because they’re going to be making use of AT&T’s HSUPA mobile broadband technology to increase the notebook’s upload speeds from 3.6 Mbps to 5.6 Mbps. It’s being marketed as the world’s smallest notebook with the fastest wireless data connection. The company has also released some futuristic gadgets for those folks who need more than just fast connections to get their hearts racing.

Wireless better than cable?

How come a cellular data connection can upload 5-10 times faster than my residential cable connection? Am I missing something here?

real world speeds

try uploading on a wireless connection and see your speeds and how reliable it is. then i think you would prefer your home connection. But now when will our home connection upload speed increase? When competition (fios 20/20 ) comes into play.

Has ATT rolled out 3.6Mbps on the backbone?

I haven't even seen ATT rollout 3.6 uplink yet. ATT has 3.6 devices rolled out but I don't think the network is there yet. Highest that is showing up on dslreports is no greater than 500Kbps. At least EVDO can get near 1Mbps uplink in real world.
