| | No to monopolisation!!!
After so many years they were reluctant to open up their last mile fixed line network to consumers now they are asking us to save them?Don't you think it's stupid to save them by pumping in more money for them to throw at worthless companies? They went and spend so much money buying up Celcom,Astro and Fibrecom just to monopolise up everything and they are now in big trouble. This was what they asked for so let it be.I think its time that the Malaysian development reserves should go to those who really deserves it like Jaring as well as the other social welfare bodies.Who cares about their generation old POTS infrastructure? It's time that we need to replace them with fibers and coaxial cabling(HFCs).It's now the time to see where out hard earned money is headed to some proper development instead of them.

So, if you pay EPF, you are investing in Telekom.

Least the CEO of Telekom seems to agree with the view of a lot of people that Telekom is in deep doo doo .... that's a good first step as opposed to the ENTIRE organisation being in denial

| bixantineHyelbainePremium join:2003-03-05 Malaysia | hhhmm..i agree with that the article wasn't about asking the consumers to help telekom. it was more concentrated on why celcom wanted to be relisted again and the "old govt" mindset that we discuss here all the time. In all honesty Telekom AREN'T going bankrupt or anything like that.
It is comforting to see and read that SOME people at Telekom wants to move forward. If its going to start from somewhere, why not from the very top i guess. As for xenquan's post, except for the Ministry of Finance, the other bodies are not responsible for answering to the government.

1) Khazanah, a wholly owned company of the Ministry of Finance (Incorporated) (MOF) is the investment holding arm of the Government of Malaysia entrusted to manage the assets held by the Government and to undertake new investments.
3) The board of directors of the EPF, who are appointed by the Minister of Finance, assume responsibility for the honest and prudent management of money contributed to the fund.
4) Section 9 (1) of the Central Bank of Malaysia Act 1958 provides that the Governor shall be appointed by the Yang Di Pertuan Agong, and the Deputy Governors by the Minister of Finance. Since the Bank's inception in 1959, there has been seven Governors.
