Blackberry's Plan: Lots of Public Letters Insisting All's Well
Blackberry seems to believe that an endless stream of public, candid-feeling letters
will make partners and consumers ignore the fact the company's products aren't selling, their customers are leaving and the company is losing money hand over fist
. The latest comes in the form of a piece written over at CNBC
, in which new CEO John Chen again promises everything is going to be fine. "I'm not focused on who BlackBerry used to be," Chen writes. "I'm focused on what BlackBerry will be today and in the future." Chen goes on to insist that Blackberry "cannot just be replaced" and the new Blackberry will be a "nimbler, more agile competitor."
