| | | It speaks volumes to me that a company that is dying from obsolescence is still using the term "DVD" as the primary marketing word for their product | |

What is interesting is that Comcast cannot partner with BLockbuster on streaming as they have already painted themselves into a corner by capping users' download connections. This would work if there was streaming to the Set Top.
What's the difference between this and Blockbusters disc-by-mail service? (Which my family currently uses and are VERY happy with)? -- standard disclaimers apply.

| Blockbuster hasn't been relevant for years Blockbuster isn't relevant *unless it's your only choice for renting movies*.
At least they know they suck at adapting to the broadband age.
The internet is such an important marketing and delivery tool, that any company that misses this wave will find themselves left behind, forgotten about, and tossed out like used toilet paper.

1 edit | Blockbuster is almost done I got a DroidX last week, and it has a Blockbuster app built in. Apparently they paid Verizon x amount to include the Blockbuster app with the phone, an app that cannot be removed without rooting the phone (which VZW makes clear voids the warranty). It's also an app that's not allowed to use the HDMI port, so no watching on a real HDTV. People on Droid forums are already wondering how to remove the app once BB goes under.
edit to add: Not to mention that a 24 hour rental allows me to watch the movie on this wonderful 4.3" screen at 4 bucks a day (yea, I'll be doing THAT every day!).

"We'll just copy Netflix's plan but charge more for it". I can see this flopping like crazy. They think the "Blockbuster" name is enough.
