The format wars may have a front runner

Now that the major studios have settled on which format they’re going to support, consumers have started to make some decisions about whether they’re going to buy Blu-Ray or HD-DVD. In Japan, Blu-ray currently stands out as the clear winner. Reportedly, ninety percent of the devices purchased in Japan in a three-month period at the end of 2007 were Blu-ray devices. Supposedly that number doesn’t include purchases of Sony’s PS3 which offers Blu-ray capability.
