We've had 15x1 (18x1 last year) for awhile now. CV is updating that to 30x5.

| Re: So montannah Utah and colorado You know the CEO of Mediacom Rocco B Commiso used to work for Cablevision so it may happen that Mediacom is bought by them. »www.cablecenter.org/content.cfm?id=946 I'm in the same boat as you, Windstream or Mediacom so I choose the bad vs the revolting. | |

| | Changing from CV is CV trying to rebrand everything as Optimum? Their East Coast site even states everything as Optimum and nothing about Cablevision. | |

There are probably legal reasons for doing it that way.

To benefit from the new speeds you need to call them and switch to the "Optimum" package. We currently have Bresnan's Speed Plus package (15x1) and it's rather nice. I did hear that the new package is (30x5) which would be rather sweet.
I'm a bit surprised they don't auto-update everyone to the new packages, though.. I can't wait until they push the update through so I can get a new baseline. -- Bresnan 18M/1M MyWS[i7-870@4.1G,16G RAM,2x1T HDDs,Win7] WifeWS[A64@2G,2G RAM,120G HDD,Win7] Router[2xP3@1G,512M RAM,18G HDD,Allied Telesyn AT2560FX,2xDigital QP DE504,Compaq DP NC3131,2xSun QP GigaSwift, SMC 8432BTA, Gentoo Linux]

I'll ask around here and hopefully get a few answers.

| | | | | Re: Switching to new package soon.. They upgraded what was the Boost tier (30/5) to Boost Plus (50/8). I'm guessing Bresnan didn't upgrade their system to DOCSIS 3 yet. You'll love the even faster speeds to come. We just hope we get the channels that Bresnan got that us over here in the original Optimum territory don't have transfers over our way. | |

It cost me an extra $1.50/month due to small differences in price structure, but I think a near doubling in my download a 5x increase in my upload is well worth a $1.50. -- What smells like blue?
