Brigade To Help Achieve 50% Broadband Penetration

A special brigade will be formed to rectify broadband and telecommunications connection issues swiftly and efficiently. Broadband action brigade, to be headed by the ministry’s secretary-general Datuk Kamaruddin Siaraf, would comprise a team of five individuals, including officials from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission. It will meet weekly to resolve problems faced by the public or service providers.

The brigade, would look at all matters, from delays experienced by service providers in obtaining licences or permits from local authorities to erect towers to consumers’ complaints over bad connections. It is mainly to help achieve the government's target of 50% broadband penetration in the country by the end of this year. Articles Bernama & The Star
