The Texas Comptroller's Office will publish its annual list of people who have at least $100 in unclaimed cash held by the state in the Tyler Paper Sunday. The state has more than $1.1 billion in cash and property that it is trying to return.
"That is an incredible amount of forgotten money," Comptroller Carole Keeton Strayhorn, says in a "message" to Texans in the special supplement coming out in the newspaper. "It doesn't belong in a vault in Austin. Texans need that money in their pockets for their families' priorities."
