Cablevision users in our
forums note that Cablevision is deploying an updated programming guide to their customers. The deployment appears to be staggered, with an e-mail to customers telling them some customers may not see the guide until
later this month. The upgrade, which is belatedly aimed at competing with Verizon's popular FiOS TV guide promises an improved layout, faster searching, more intuitive shortcuts, and other doo-dads explained by Cablevision in an e-mail to users:
We've completely reinvented your program guide to make everything about your Optimum experience better, with a lot of exciting new choices and features.
- Improved guide layout for easier & faster searching.
- Look back to see when programs you missed will air again.
- Use buttons on your remote as shortcuts to get directly to features like On Demand and Search.
You might see the new guide available on some of your cable boxes before others. Don't worry. We'll be updating all of your cable boxes as soon as possible. To get to the guide, press the GUIDE button or the iO button on your remote.
