Cablevision finishes upgrades on Long Island (old news - 05:28PM Wednesday Jan 04 2006)
"Cablevision also said its new Optimum Online Boost premium service is available Islandwide with speeds of up to 30 megabits per second. The service costs an additional $14.95 a month or $9.95 for residential customers who subscribe to Optimum Voice, Cablevision’s telephone service."
"Patricia Gottesman, executive vice president of product management and marketing, said the firm completed the roll-out 'several weeks ahead of schedule.'"
It just may be wishful thinking on my part: But hopefully this means that it'll be rolled out faster than mid '06.
Long Islanders always seem to get the new technology first. I remember knowing someone out in LI who had OOL back in 99. I had to wait another 3 years till I could get it. Not very fair.
