Camera tossing Wondering how to use the over complicated new digital camera that Santa brought you for Christmas? Simple. Stand in the street at night, set the shutter to open for around a second, and then toss your camera high into the air. You may never be able to use it again, of course, but hey at least you'll be participating in the most fashionable craze to hit digital photography for some time. Over the past few months, professional and amateur photographers around the world have embraced the hobby of "camera tossing" as the hottest trend in digital imaging. By spinning a camera in the air and, ideally, catching it afterwards practitioners are surprising themselves with the abstract patterns of light serendipitously captured on their memory cards. Think of the ornate geometric patterns that can be drawn with a Spirograph toy: colourful, hypnotic and strangely compelling. At their best, the results can be beautifully calming. | | Uhhhhh.. Hmmmm.. Definitely odd. The results I glanced at aren't even anything special. Most of what I saw can be done in PS and some different fractal type programs, in other words, artificially with no need to take a big chance of busting your camera all up. I think too many people have more $$$ then they have brains :D -- "Photography is 50% being at the right place at the right time, 25% gut, 10% skill, 10% luck, 5% equipment" -JKS

And what's wrong with a point and shoot?????? :) -- Never argue with an idiot. Theyll drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

And what's wrong with a point and shoot?????? :) Absolutely nothing. It was my first type of camera, then I went to a film SLR. Then I got a digital Kodak DC3400 and got some GREAT pictures with it. The only problems with cameras of that type is you can't: •change the aperture •change the shutter speed •change the lens - if you want to do macro shots or something that requires a telephoto lens, forget it.

Eh, who wants to do all that :) Me:)
With my latest camera [Cannon Digital Rebel XT/350] you can do all of that. I've been playing with it all day - that best thing about it is [this is with all digital cameras] you can take as many shots as your memory will hold - and not have to wait for them to be developed. And you can erase any that you don't want.
