$35 a month.
I just noticed that Wind has Canadawide roaming at $0.25 a minute and you appear to be "home zoned" if you are on the Wind network, even if you are in a different city (e.g. in Vancouver with a Toronto phone).
Just as important, Wind roams in the United States at $0.25 a minute!

| They published their plan pricing yesterday morning, all of 2 hours or so before launch.
Their biggest plan seems to be roughly on par with the better deals from some of the competitors, and their mid and low range plans seem to be about the same price, but with more stuff included.
The biggest problem right now is the $0.25/min roaming fees, given their current footprint is still rather small. That will become less of an issue though, as they bring more towers online.

vag16v join:2001-07-27 hereandthere | just another... Hardly considered a competitor when they're only serving a couple cities. Things only start to get interesting when someone puts some real money where their mouth is and starts building their own network across Canada. Its real good to see this kind of service putting some pressure on the other larger providers, but leave their little home area and they're all in the same boat as everyone else. You'll then pay whatever rate the competitors want for roaming and usage on their network.
The only other comment I have, is in terms of the competitors trying to have them banned...that's pretty sad. If it takes someone from outside the country to come in and do it right, then those same competitors need to sit back and have a REAL good look at the kinds of services/costs they are offering to the Canadian market.

I know there are people who think there is no world outside Toronto and the other big cities in Canada, but I hope they realize what the territorial market is like in other parts of Canada before getting peoples hopes up. I'm thinking of some of the small monopoly markets in parts of Ontario who have been the only player for far too long.

| Re: just another... Would you spend $450M or so on spectrum across the country and only open up shop in Toronto and Calgary?
They always stated that they plan to build a coast-to-coast network (minus where they don't have spectrum), but were going to start with Toronto and a "western Canadian city" (most people expected Vancouver, not Calgary), then expand to 3 more cities - since announced to be Ottawa, Edmonton and Vancouver - shortly after.
The info is out there, it's just a matter of digging through old news stories and press releases.

| No SIM Card support yet? As far as I've heard, their phones don't accept/support SIM cards yet, which is pretty essential if they expect to compete with the locals. Even Bellus now support SIM cards in certain phones. The fact that WIND is on the 1700Mhz spectrum is going to hurt them in that respect.
I think at this point, people want to take their phones and drag their broken spirits and wallets to somewhere cheaper where they won't get abused. However, people may still balk at having to lay down another few hundred dollars for yet another phone in many cases.
Good thing Robbers and Bellus have been extending contracts left, right and centre lately, eh? Pretty sneaky. Most of us on this forum have probably wised up and refused the contracts, but many poor souls out there still have 2.98 years to go on their $30/month "deals" that end up costing them +$200/month.

Considering that all their phones are GSM, it would be dumb not to support SIM cards; they would be required to support them.
You can use any T-Mobile 3G phone on their network as well. That means when I travel from the US to Toronto, finally, I can use my phone with a new SIM from Wind Mobile. -- My Blog 2.0

I did say that users on this forum were probably mostly exceptions and I'm glad you got yourself a deal. You do say "all in" but that's still not extremely clear about what exactly you're getting for that price. $37 for unlimited voice and data would certainly be a deal in my books. Plus, you seem to say you have nation-wide roaming AND long distance? That's actually amazing. Did you bargain for this, or did this come as part of a corporate plan?

Which the Nokia N900 does Same with iphone 3g and palm pre i believe. They support utms but 1700 doesnt seem to be listed.
sadly the droid isnt supported Just found out yesturday how to get root access to it.
