Cancer Cells Tricked Into Killing Themselves by Jnick Wednesday 21-Nov-2001 Researchers in Scotland said Thursday they had developed a potential new therapy that fools cancer cells into killing themselves. Scientists at Glasgow's Beatson Laboratories, Scotland's largest cancer research organization, said the treatment did not harm healthy cells and could thus eliminate the harmful side effects caused by current cancer cures. | | | Heard it b4 While I hope this finally it I've heard of these promising therapies coming onto the market in 3,5,10 years before, only never to be heard from again. Or they turn out to be duds, or impossibly high priced or withdrawn because of unacceptably fatal side-effects.
It's as if the multi-billion dollar cancer industry (drug companies, hospitals, oncologists) doesn't want anything coming to market that will finally put THEM out of business. Sorry to be so cynical. | |
