Charter Still Fighting With Creditors
Who are trying to keep the company from exiting bankruptcy

Charter Communications continues to battle with the company's lenders, who are trying to prevent the bankrupt cable company from exiting bankruptcy so they can appeal a court ruling approving the reorganization. Creditors have been fighting against Charter's reorganization plan all summer and fall, primarily because they don't like the pre-bankruptcy interest rates agreed to in the deal. "Hundreds of millions of dollars of additional interest and would put at peril the entire plan," Charter attorneys claim in court filings. Last week Charter executives indicated that a post-bankruptcy Charter would explore price hikes and metered billing for the company's customers.

Does everything have to be about Obama with you haters? Jeez put a sock in it. Obama has NOTHING to do with this article. You've just wasted every one's time and honest you need a 72 ban for being an idiot.

Price hikes and metered billing

What, they want to lose more money? Sure, sign me up for price hikes on a service already outrageously expensive for the service speeds, and then slap metered billing on top of that.

NOT.

I thought they want to keep customers to stay in business. What's the point of price hikes and metered billing unless they want to see how fast they go out of business, or right back into bankruptcy?

Oh Verizon, where for art thou? Bring FIOS dang it all!

I'm backing the lenders 100%. Charter needs to die. It'll probably help the economy if they do.

Hey, I thought metered billing would lower prices! so how's metered billing supposed to help them increase cash flow??

ooh ya, that's right, its just an excuse to raise prices under the guise of 'fairness'

Re: Price hikes and metered billing

I think it's an attempt to give investors false hope. Think of metered billing as akin to a GM concept car that will save the American auto manufacturing industry.

That is EXACTLY what I am thinking too. DAMNIT WHERE IS FIOS ALREADY! I don't want to see the stuid price hikes and metered billing. Screw that! I hope they give us a heads up when they about to die so that we have enough time to switch providers.

Re: Price hikes and metered billing

If the are going to raise prices I hope they die quickly and if nothing better comes along maybe Comcast will take over my neighborhood. Sad as that sounds would be better than having Charter.

So you won't deal with Charter and their Metered billing but yet want to support a company that keeps talking about doing it. Hmmm.....

Paul Allen

If anyone has read any of the previous stories surrounding this bankruptcy, it's that Paul Allen and the executives who have run this company into the ground, stand to PROFIT from this. They are screwing the very people who funded the company and got it off the ground, typical Paul Allen. He did it with the Seahawks (by getting the taxpayers of King County to pay for the stadium), and he has done it with many other Vulcan investments. We can blame Obama, Bush whoever you want, it's not government intervention that's the reason for these big financial problems, it's these big wigs who are profiting whether these companies succeed or fail, they take these big salaries and yet don't do their job.

This is just my opinion

I can't see charter winning this one, if they are fighting the creditors now, they are going to be fighting them after as well. maybe having to make deep concessions, or getting rid of areas.

If they make it, it would suprise me.

I hope that in my area, TWC takes them over....
