BONUSLINK loyalty-card holders can now check their total accumulated reward points via SMS (short message service). By accessing the same short code via their handphones, they will also be able to change their personal identification number, redeem gifts, and track their redemption status. BonusKad Loyalty, which runs the loyalty card programme, and local wireless applications and content developer MNC Wireless jointly launched the new BonusLink service last week. Called SMS Information-On-Demand, the service is the first in a series of BonusLink m-Services.
Other cardholder services in the series would be SMS alerts on promotions and special offers, as well as notifications that accumulated reward points have reached a certain number. The service is open to all BonusLink members who are subscribers of the Maxis (012 and 017), DiGi (016) or Celcom (019 and 013) mobile network. Members pay their cellular operators charge for each SMS sent to the short code, plus 30sen for each reply. BonusLink m-Services is aimed at Malaysians who may not find it convenient to go to a BonusLink centre, or who may be living in suburban and rural areas where Internet access is scarce. Full article
