I am not even sure how to pronounce it.
Is it pronounced with a "Z" Zohm or "X" Ecks-ohm.
I hate stupid names like that.
It's like they are trying to be cool and only cool people will know how to say it.
Just like Verizon FIOS. Is it Fee-os or Fi-os?
Fe, Fi, Fo, Fum Verizon's name is really dumb.

| | Who cares about names As long as it means I can get Mobile WiMAX sooner rather than later or have the competition lower their high speed data plans they can call the new company "steaming pile of crap" for all I care. I would still user their services if they offer the best wireless data service (which WiMAX will).
Who gives a crap about the name or if it is cool. Cool is when I can do something with the service. I don't care what they call it, it will still be WiMAX to me.
|
| | The name will remain the same The new company will not be called "New Clearwire" it will keep the original name Clearwire. In the SEC fillings they refer to it as "New Clearwire" only to Differentiate between the old company the the new. This can easily be seen if the SEC filling is actually read before inaccurate information is posted. | |

NCW @clearwire.com | Do your homework, dude
whomever writing this article needs to do their homework. "largely associated with the mediocre reviews for their fixed WiMax service"? Clearwire has not commercial-launched either fixed or mobile wimax--- where did you get those mediocre reviews?

| Re: Do your homework, dude Hey, Dude.Clearwire has not commercial-launched either fixed or mobile wimax. Clearwire has been offering fixed WiMax service for several years, and mobile WiMax in Baltimore for several weeks. You're actually posting from a fixed WiMax IP on the very fixed WiMax service you claim doesn't exist. That's a new one for me. | |
|
| | | | Re: Do your homework, dude Youre wrong buddy! Fixed Wimax is 802.16d. Mobile Wimax is 802.16e. The Fixed network you're referring to is Expedience witch is a technology invented by Next Net and owned be Motorola. Get your facts straight buddy! The only market Clearwire has Wimax in is Portland Oregon and even there its not open to the public yet. It is being used for testing and investor demonstrations. Baltimore is the only Wimax market Clearwire is associated with and that is ran by the XOHM team at Sprint. Do your homework dude! | |
|
| | | | | Re: Do your homework, dude My wrong, buddy! Forgot Expedience is technically "Pre-WiMax".... | |
