According to the Oregonian, Comcast will start selling re-branded Clearwire Mobile WiMax service in the Portland area this year. The plan was to be expected, given that Comcast has invested roughly one billion dollars in the joint venture mobile WiMax operation created by Sprint and Clearwire -- though they'll be buying bandwidth wholesale. It's likely that Comcast will offer the service as part of a discount bundle, though they're not yet talking specifics when it comes to prices. In Portland, Clearwire charges between $20-$50 for wireless broadband service up to 6Mbps.
This just means that Comcast will resell the service under their own name. Clearwire/Xohm/Clear won't be resolved until they do that themselves.
Given the terrible reputation that Clearwire has with customers I would have thought using 'Xohm' rather than 'Clear' would have better insulated the new service from being confused with Clearwire.
Got some facts to back that up Fios FANatic The problem is FIOS is not available in older MDU and I am not sure any newer ones have it. Verizon my be completive for single dwellings homes but hampered due to no MDU solutions. I live in Hillsboro.

Verizon has MDU options for Fios and have rolled it out in several locations. BBR front page has commented on this a couple times.

Huh? Someone's talking out their you know what.
Fios is available in apartments all over Hillsboro. and they've most all have been retrofitted with fiber dropped into a closet.
Nearly every complex up and down 185th - for starters. All the new apts around Orenco. Apts off 25th near the intel jones farm campus. very large complex off 12th and w. main.
neary every apartment complex in aloha. all of them are older w/ the exception of the orence apts.
i could go on and on to prove my point. check around before you post ridiculous statements like that.
I live at Rock Creek 185th apartments jack WE HAVE NO FIOS. I check with the other 185th apartments and the ones on Willow creek. Perhaps the only place is the condos on Rock Creek. Town homes do not count.
Well if Comcast is going to market the service like they did for the Comcast/Sprint cell service (Pivot) nobody will know about it. Advertisement for Pivot was pretty-much nill in Portland metro.
