| Go Verizon go! Somehow I do not see Verizon letting this bid slip through their fingers. This is just too good an asset for them to gain in the NYC area. I just do not see Comcrap doing well here unless they come out with really superior deals and quality internet and with a reputation of "Comcrap" following them for years, something tells me this is not what we are going to see from them. | |

Let's hope the regulators are paying attention. If not, many of us will be speaking with our representatives to insist on a thorough review. | |

| RCN buyout A Comcast buy would not get past antitrust issues since all of RCN service areas except NYC compete directly against Comcast
Verizon would make a logical buyer since they need video customers to expand their FiOS base
I've heard that WOW was interested in the Chicago properties, Millineum in the DC properties, and Knology lowballing. Only serious contender is VZ | |

join:2005-05-01 Washington, DC | Re: RCN buyout There are two cable providers in WASH DC - Comcast and RCN. I doubt if DC would go over to the dark side and allow comcast to be the only cable provider.
