Comcast changes irk customers
Basic subscribers tune in to find channels missing

Upgrade or outrage?
“Great news!” read a letter to Comcast customers included with August’s bill. “On September 15th, we will be simplifying our channel lineup in the Longmont area. This upgrade is included with your service at no additional charge to you.”
As of Thursday, when the changes took effect, subscribers to the company’s Basic service found themselves with two fewer channels. TBS and Discovery are no longer available to Basic customers.
As one reader said in an e-mail to the Times-Call: “What kind of idiot marketing department sends out a ‘Great news!’ and ‘upgrade’ and ‘at no additional charge to you!’ announcement for a decrease in service?”
