dadkinsCan you do Blu?Premium,MVM join:2003-09-26 Hercules, CA kudos:18 | Cable phone service ROCKS! I've had Comcast Cable Telephone service since AT&T was incharge of it. It is the best thing to happen to phone service.
|
| | Priceless Based on the raging debate regarding whether or not Comcast advertises its internet service as "unlimited" (with regard to "bandwidth use limitation" violations), to see a description of Comcast telephone service as near-unlimited is, well, priceless.
Also buried in The Boston Globe article: said by »www.boston.com/business/articles···ne_plan/ : Its local success has made New England one of only two regions of the country where it has been actively promoting conventional phone service over cable while it readies an Internet-protocol system for deployment by 2006.

| | | Re: Priceless $43 WITH Internet? What the heck is that? Isn't $43 about the price that everyone pay for just Comcast Internet service without the phone? | |
|
| | | | Re: Priceless The discount is for the phone service if one has digital cable or HSI ($44 versus $49). Why the article notes the HSI price is beyond me. said by »www.boston.com/business/articles···ne_plan/ : Comcast customers in more than 120 Eastern Massachusetts communities -- and a total of 1.5 million households served by Comcast in New England -- will be able to get 5,000 minutes of phone service for $44 monthly combined with premium digital cable TV service or $43-a-month high-speed Internet service. The phone bundle, called "Comcast Connections Any Distance," is available as a stand-alone plan for $49.

The only way you can get the "$43-a-month high-speed Internet service", is to subscribe to television. The lowest priced basic subscription will do though.
So it could be, you have to pay $49/mo for phone, unless you have one of the following: • Digital Cable TV, or • Basic Analog Cable TV plus High Speed Internet

You dont need basic to get the price of $43 a month for HSI if you have digital phone.

Savings claim based upon High-Speed Internet Service monthly savings of $15.04 per month off of standard monthly rate of $57.99 for service and monthly modem fee at $3.00 for non-cable customers. The monthly discount applies for a year, as long as you remain a qualifying subscriber in good standing. After one year, the monthly discount may be discontinued at any time upon 30 days written notice.
Also,
To be a qualifying subscriber, you must subscribe to at least the following minimum level of service for any two (or all three) products:
Cable: Digital Silver plus Standard Cable; Digital Phone: 1 line with 2 feature pack or multi-feature pack and any local or long distance calling plan; High-Speed Internet service.
Phone Service
Requires customer-provided Caller ID equipment.
Prices do not include per minute long distance charges that exceed the package plan, a per line Subscriber Line Charge, a Universal Connectivity Charge, and other state and local charges that may apply.
Local toll and in-state long distance rates are 7¢ per minute except in the following areas: Massachusetts local toll 5¢.

WOW!! That's a lot more than what I pay now and I get cheaper Long Distance and Tolls of 4.5 cents per minute with six second increments. without charges for an additional phone.
Additional lines may be added for a monthly fee. Included features are for first line only.
What are the total charges for both HSI and VoIP?
