Covad Communications, a nationwide high-speed Internet provider, plans to stop selling home DSL service in Kentucky if a bill to deregulate broadband becomes law when the General Assembly convenes next week.

BellSouth and other traditional telephone companies argue that the Federal Communications Commission already regulates Internet service, and that ending state control would encourage investment and spread broadband deployment throughout Kentucky.
