| Re: Any word on the pricing? No, the price ($40)stays the same but you get upgraded to 4000 kbps d/l and 500kbps upload. If you want 5mb d/l and 750k upload (priemer service), you pay a extra $15 so the total comes out to $55. Now I bought the modem so I dont pay for the rent so if you rented it, it be $65. | |

I am 100% for LUS but if they dont get it to pass at least it got Cox off its stagnant ass and given up an upgrade out of it. Now if they would stop the propaganda.
So far so good.
Called in upgraded to the fastest connection.
2004-08-27 11:52:49 EST: 4320 / 739 Your download speed : 4423758 bps, or 4320 kbps. A 540 KB/sec transfer rate. Your upload speed : 757378 bps, or 739 kbps.
Havent seen it hit the 5MB Barrier yet but can't be that picky. I am going to try this for a little while. If I feel like I am bottle necking on the server side of things I am going to down grade to the 3MB service.

| One system, two weeks, not rollout Well, it's been two weeks now since Cox announced the M.A.C. system upgrade began in Lafayette, LA, a city considering starting municipal ISP due to the lack of attention they've received from the commercial providers.
So far, Lafayette is the ONLY city in the Middle America Cox division to receive the upgrade. Coincidence? NOT!
This is not a sign of any sort of rollout of upgrades. Looks to me like it's an attempt to squash competition, while still ignoring the real issue. One more strike against Cox Communications in the "we want your trust" department. -- "Middle America Cox" customers passed over for three upgrades, but still saw rates equal to the upgraded markets. Most of MAC still running at 1/4 speed for the same rate. Cox has finally begun to upgrade MAC - will they complete the job? When?
