by teh Tuesday 02-Aug-2005
DAGANG Net Technologies Sdn Bhd, the information technology unit of UEM Group, has formed a strategic alliance with TS Trans Asia Sdn Bhd to provide its customers with free information on rail or landbridge schedules. Under the alliance, TS TransAsia will provide rail schedules to be published in Dagang Net’s web-based portal called “MyPorts”. The former benefits from added exposure of its landbridge service, which could result in additional business. Dagang Net is Malaysia’s largest e-commerce service provider, while TS TransAsia is a Malaysian-Thai joint venture company that runs a rail landbridge service linking the Klang Valley and Bangkok. The service connects Kontena Nasional’s Inland Clearance Depots (ICD) in Sungai Way in Petaling Jaya, Prai in Penang, the Ipoh Cargo Terminal and Bangsue ICD in Bangkok. Dagang Net’s “MyPorts” is a one-stop trade exchange that offers numerous value-added services for fast, convenient, reliable and secure trading environment for the business community. The monthly rail schedules published in “MyPorts” will benefit the trade community who will not only enjoy free access to this up-to-date rail information but can also undertake direct online bookings to help facilitate important business decisions.
