| Sheesh... a bit late to the party You can ALREADY download games for your PSP. And all it takes is a copy of Lumines, a memory stick, and an internet connection. What exactly are they proposing to do, charge money for something that everyone with half a brain knows you can do for free?
Wake up sony. You've missed the boat.. umm, by a couple of years now. -- Stick it to the MAN. Support your local torrent sites. Proudly providing 100mb of upstream for all your TV, Movie, and MP3 needs.

So no reason to steal. | |

I don't have a PSP but if I did, I darn would download a game to try it out before buying it. Now.. if sony would offer a trail of it's games, say 1st level only, they might be on to something.. Just a thought.

Just a thought. said by tc1uscg :Thats the point. Not too many people are willing to download a demo and all it's payload (advertisements) that sometimes comes with it. I use trials all the time but am very careful who and where I get them from. It appears some just want to pass go and get the real thing. But, with sony's "root kit" rep (my point), some consider "sticking it to the man" by getting the FULL version and moving on. Yeah ok...These people will use anything for an excuse to take what is not theirs. Whether it is stealing to put food on the table for your family or it is stealing cuz you want it and don't want to have to pay for it...It is still stealing no matter how you want to rationalize it. In the end you become that which you detest.

| The asshole idiots who have been calling the homebrew community one of "piracy" and "theft" are ignorant morons. Almost all of the games available through PSP homebrew are HOME MADE by amateur programmers, that is, none of them are normal PSP titles and most of them are original games in general (although some of them loose rip-offs of nintendo games and others, but who are you kidding if you think that the regular pay-for game companies don't do the same thing). Homebrew offers a venue for up-and-coming game programmers to fool around and let people use their work for free, it is NOT piracy, it is NOT theft. | |

| bahhh !!! I read it fast and thought they were dropping the ps3 price again. I want one but I am not blowing $400 on it with no good games.
Sony Give me an 80 gig unit without the hard drive for $300 and were talking.
Also they are finally realizing the pirate community had been doing it for a long time and it was easier for them ? So they took the idea and ran with it. nice job Sony , couldn't have done that ohhh I dunno 3 years ago ? -- "It's always funny until someone gets hurt......and then it's absolutely friggin' hysterical!"

80 gig unit without hard drive? Then what's 80 gig stand for? Am I hearing something wrong?

With a PS3 you can put in any size SATA notebook harddrive you want. Or actually uu can also use an external one too. And face it for $100 you can get a harddrive much bigger than 80 GB.

40GB has neither but does have PSOne emulation.

You want the 80 gig unit without the hard drive? That makes no sense. It wouldn't be gig anything with no hard drive -- Fighting on the Internet is like winning the Special Olympics. Win or lose, your still Retarted!

You want something and not have to pay for it with no concern for the people who's livelihood you are hurting. I doubt you would like it if someone was taking money out of your paycheck or took something of yours without your permission or even paying you for it. It is amazing to me the difference when the shoe is on the other foot.
Ok if you want to pretend you are "getting back" at the big bad evil company that did what to you? You know I would go with that if you only stole first party games but we all know that isn't the case. You take each and every game no matter who made it.
Now as far as those who are intelligent go...I applaud them for their skills in finding the exploit and putting it to use. You sir are not one of them. Any idiot can download and apply the exploit. You are like the person who comes into the vault after the bank robbers have left and you pick up their leftovers. You are just benefiting from what they did. Intelligent would be the last group I would put you in.

Here's a hint: One of the most common ways involves actual purchased PS1 games...
