Earthlink says they've struck another municipal Wi-Fi deal, this time with Corpus Christi, Texas. In this case, Earthlink will take ownership of an already built city network that has been used for everything from emergency communications to meter reading. As with the company's other citywide Wi-Fi projects, users will get symmetrical 1Mbps broadband for around $20 a month, and the network will be opened to other ISPs to provide service.
