latest data suggests that globally, the cost of fiber-to-the-home is dropping as its popularity is rising. The average cost of a fiber line per month dropped 12% to around $28.10, according to the company. The average monthly cost worldwide for a DSL line is $25, while the average monthly cost for cable broadband is $30.
"Cable modem is certainly losing its price competitiveness," states Point-Topic researcher Vince Chook. All that's left now is the minute detail of people in the States actually getting FTTH.
