Users in our Verizon FiOS TV forum note that Verizon's FiOS TV high definition video on demand offerings are going live in some markets. Unconfirmed reports indicate that FiOS TV markets in Texas, California, Maryland, Northern NJ, Philadelphia/Delaware should go live either today or tomorrow. We've got calls in to big red, and will post more information when we have it.

Re: Yo NY!!!

Considering that U-Verse is IPTV, it would seem like it wouldn't be too complicated to redirect the HD stream from a channel to an On-Demand streaming video, though I don't know too much about how U-Verse does it specifically.

Yeah, you enjoy that compressed HD stream from Comcast while I'll enjoy that uncompressed HD stream from FiOS.

"Yeah, you enjoy that compressed HD stream from Comcast while I'll enjoy that uncompressed HD stream from FiOS."

I'm wondering when the FTC is going to step in and start whacking Comcast for their deceptive advertising ... their recent TV ads claiming they have a fiber network and the most true HD channels are way over the line.

Re: $5.99!

Even HD movies are $4.99 in my Comcast system. We just watched on the other day.

"We just watched on the other day."

Ahhhh, no you didn't. You watched what Comcast claims is an HD movie which like 98% of what they claim about their service is total BS.

Really? I haven't watched one in a few months. I guess that's a good reason not to.

I used to get a couple a year from Time Warner and I used them. Haven't gotten one from Comcast yet but I'm not really expecting one.

Verizon added HD VOD to the Washington Metro market on Monday, March 31. I'm in the Sterling CO area and found the the High Definition folder under the Browse list Monday afternoon. Check again.

price

stop complaining about price. just be thankful you have it or going to have it. companies always test different price points to see/test take rates. who knows comcast may raise it to $5.99 or fios may lower to $4.99. most hd viewers probably if they will pay $4.99 will certaintly pay $5.99. the product is a premium product so u pay a premium price. hd vod movie takes up 4 times as much space on servers, be happy they don't charge you 4 times the price of a standard def movie!

Free HD VOD is Now Available Via FiOS TV

They seem to have expanded their FREE HD catalog very late today, hopefully there will be more HD Subscription Content being offered shortly.

Another Verizon work in progress, hopefully this will expand to closer to 1k free and subscription titles over the next few weeks.

I can only hope.
