File Trader Sues RIAA
(old news - 06:11AM Friday Aug 22 2003)
Anonymous California file trader has filed suit against the RIAA claiming invasion of privacy, and that the RIAA's supeona had violated her right to due process.

Her attorney is quoted as saying "The recent efforts of the music industry to root out piracy have addressed a uniquely contemporary problem with Draconian methods -- good old-fashioned intimidation combined with access to personal information that would make George Orwell blush."

On 9 July, the RIAA sent her ISP, Verizon Communications, a subpoena seeking her name, address, phone number and email address. Verizon contacted the anonymous subscriber on 15 July, telling her that the group was targeting her.
Ya really shouldn't mess wit da mob like that! Oh, wait. It's not da mob, it's RIAA...

Good Job!

If the RIAA thinks that sueing everyone and "TRYING" to scare me will make me buy these ripoff CDs that costs a few bucks to make and only has ONE good song must be crazy. Why pay $20 when i can it it for FREE. I think the RIAA are crooks for charging outrageous prices for 5 dollar CD. Sometimes when i download a CD some of the songs suck and i feel ripped off and i didn't pay anything! I feel relieved that i didn't waste $20.00 on it. And those single CD that go for $10 and only has two songs is OUTRAGEOUS!!!
