File swappers fight back

Music fans swapping songs online are fighting industry efforts to watch and police what they do. In recent weeks, the US music industry has stepped up attempts to stop piracy on peer-to-peer networks such as Kazaa and Grokster. The industry's trade body has started suing individual file swappers, has sent warning messages to millions of peer-to-peer users and is thought to be developing programs that hijack the computers of suspected pirates.

what the hell is going on? i mean they might hijack "SUSPECTED" pirates how about if they catch the wrong person they would have a heck of a lawsuit on their hands

not if you have as much money as the RIAA has ..

they can afford any lawyer that they want .. who will be able to convince the judge that what they are doing is all in the name of counter piracy .. goddam RIAA

no wonder i am not buying any more cd's and now just buying dvd's .. not that the MPAA is any better .. .but for a dolar or two more i can get a dvd instead of a cd .. `-`
