Final update on News Server; cap now 128kbps

Internal DTV memo from head office in Cupertino:

"Bandwidth for accessing news has been throttled down to 128 Kbps per customer. Total bandwidth limit for news has been set to 20 Mbps for all the customers. If the bandwidth goes over 20 Mbps (+5 Mbps burst) then router starts dropping packets. This is not temporary".

This was a VP level decision and any of you who monitored the DTV newsgroup and are waiting for info from NewsAdmin, he is now forbidden from having any direct customer contact. In other words, no more update postings. Another VP level decision."

This is Crap

The bandwith cap sucks. I am sure that the router can handle much more than 25 Mbps. Directv Internet blows. I like it better when it was telocity. And, we may be in for another name change when Hughes sells out.

DirecTV sucks!

Ok, first... I can’t get local channels on my DirecTV, and now I find out I'm limited to how much Newsgroup stuff I can download?!?!? These bozo's put million dollar Satellite’s in space, and yet they can’t manage to get me basic necessities that pretty much ANY OTHER PROVIDER of internet and television/cable can get me!?!? And if that isn't the icing on the cake, they want to also strip us DirecTV customers from our 1st Amendment rights?

Telocity??? THEY WISH!

DirecTV is NOT Telocity... They only wish! Telocity was a REAL internet provider that didn't have to put limitations on their customers!

MY ISP = DIRECTV.... DONT YOU MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE!!!!
