Verizon & Sprint suck more, T-mobile is not worth mentioning I agree 100%, Verizon has crappy sound and poor reception in crowded areas, Sprint call quality is really choppy, and very poor coverage, and T-Mobile.... well, lets just say they are a joke at best. They drop when you have full service, they drop if the wind blows the wrong way, you get the point.
While AT&T is FAR from perfect, out of the choices, they suck the least. I also am kind of partial to the GSM/HSDPA standard because of the SIM cards. I like having the option to get a Japan or UK phone and have it work perfect.

| Re: So much for good will from the death star............... FYI. You can use GSM phones that supports 3G UMTS 2100 MHz band in Japan. My family and I have successfully used Nokia E70 (Europe version, as the US version doesn't support the 2100 MHz band), Nokia N73, and Nokia E90. In the Tokyo area, you are most likely to roam to with Softbank.
Phones such as the HTC S630 can operate over there as well. Similary for all the current AT&T 3G data cards that operate on tri-band 3G frequencies.

| That's a pretty ignorant assessment of T-Mobile coverage considering there are areas that they work better than their competitors and AT&T still relies on T-Mobile's network for voice/data in some parts of Cali. In fact, AT&T has quietly removed T-Mobile roaming in parts of LA leaving some AT&T customers with no service at their homes where there used to be.
AT&T hides domestic roaming Alpha Tags so your display always says 'AT&T," even when roaming on another carrier.
Wireless coverage varies from town to town and block to block. If T-Mobile was as bad as you claim, I wouldn't use them.
Verizon and Sprint work well in many areas too. In fact, it's Verizon who wins awards for coverage and call quality; not AT&T.
Blanket assessments of a national provider that we make from our small corner of society do nothing really but expose our ignorance.
Let's try this exercise:
______________ sucks as a wireless provider!!
(Enter in: AT&T, Verizon, Sprint Nextel, T-Mobile, Alltel, USCC etc. depending on location, user preferences, user experience or lack of, natural bias, ignorance and a dash of common sense)

| Re: So much for good will from the death star............... Um not sure where you are are but I only know one person with t-mobile but it sucks. He loses reception in his house, with 3 bars, this weekend his voice mail randomly reset to the guy who slowly speaks out the number and he gets no wireless internet on his razor v3 although my ATT old razr v3 and razr v3xx both get it and the xx is 3g.
Att does not hide roam tags. I live in buffalo, ny and go to Canada often, my message changes to Rogers wireless.
My dad is on his second verizon phone from work, both are awful, the cripple bluetooth is a joke cant transfer a picture over it WHY? His new phone has no reception issues but forcing you to buy everything from get it now stinks.

| Re: So much for good will from the death star............... You know someone with T-Mobile and it sucks? I'm sure it does for him and possibly others in his immediate area.
My point is that all the carriers suck somewhere. T-Mobile is a national provider like the other 3 so quantifying a national providers total quality on a handful of sour user opinions isn't valid. On the flip side, my good experience with their local network does not mean they work well everywhere either and I'm willing to admit that openly.
Do a google search on each provider with the word sucks next to them. You'll see thousands of negative posts attributed to each of them. Everyone of them is just as passionate about their distaste with X carrier as the next.
In my post, I said AT&T does not display DOMESTIC roaming partner Alpha Tags. Rogers is not domestic to us so that is why you see it.
I don't use Verizon anymore, but as user preference dictates, some could care less about the ability to transfer pics over BT. I like to, but I don't think most users worry too much about that stuff otherwise VZW wouldn't be selling as well as they do and wouldn't have the low churn rates that they post quarterly.

| My calls on sprint never drop and they sound way better than att. My friend who has att always has his calls randomly drop and I can't understand a word of what he is saying most of the time, even when he calls my land line. Your experiences can not speak for everyone. | |

| from the deathstar? Playing the part of a congenial host, Lando greeted his old buddy Han and his companions Chewbacca, Leia Organa, and C-3PO. He gladly agreed to help fix the Falcon's damaged hyperdrive while they enjoyed Cloud City's hospitality. The travelers, however, did not trust Lando entirely, especially after the disappearance of C-3PO. Not long after their arrival, Lando invited the Rebels to refreshments and led them to Darth Vader and his stormtroopers, where Han, Leia, and Chewbacca were captured. Much to Lando's chagrin, Vader considerably altered the original deal. The Dark Lord insisted that Leia and Chewbacca remain on Bespin and decided to test the carbonite-freezing chamber (normally used to prepare Tibanna gas for shipment) on Han Solo, hoping that the same apparatus could be used on Luke to transport him to the Emperor. Lando, increasingly unhappy with the arrangement, which now included the torturing of Han Solo, informed Han and Leia of their fate, telling them "I had no choice." Han did not take this well, and punched the Baron Administrator

I make a point to take a dig at at&t's blunders whenever I can.. sometimes it helps them to lose paying customers, and if that hurts Starbucks too in the process, all the better.
Actually, I copied & pasted this from a thread I posted several months back on BBR.. about at&t's raising of DSL prices shortly after the merger with bellsouth despite they being under conditions with the fcc not to raise prices in the bellsouth territories (from $10/month for 768/128).
