Re: The "free" freedompop service costs $1.99 per mont
said by pandora:You can click the "No thanks, continue without offer" in very tiny print under the giant "GET OFFER" button to avoid the 1.99 "fee"
This free service costs $1.99 per month to get alerts when you are close to running out of your free 1GB plan, it's free for 12 months only and costs $100.
Only the 4G is truly free... the 3G plan is $4 a month for 500megs... then its 20.48 a gig overage... so it is 1/2 the price of sprints 3G overage... but still double the overage of verizon and att
It also appears the overdrive is a refurb, and carries a 90 day warranty.

Dislike their tag line I really dislike their tag line "The Internet is a Right Not a Privilege".

Re: You get what you pay for
said by RWerks :Not calling you out but if your an IT Director, didn't you do some homework BEFORE signing on? I would think if anything, you would have at least did some googling. Before I jumped onboard with Republic Wireless as a BETA tester (I still have my sprint lines of service), I had an idea of what I was getting into and figured if anything, I would be out 100.00 for the friggin phone.
These guys are a complete joke. Everyone keeps on focusing on coverage (hint: it's not good) or throughput speed (hint: it's even worse) but no one seems to want to look at customer service.
In my experience, it's atrocious. 6 weeks and counting to replace an obviously defective device. I'm an IT Director, and I deal with telcos regularly - FreedomPop is by far the worst telecommunications company that I've ever dealt with.
Shame on me for trying to get inexpensive internet service for a garage. Shame on you if you actually sign up with them...
Re: FreedomPop sucks
said by tidesunfold:What's funnier is how you joined DSLR one day after my post to counter my point. I guess Stephen Stokols is better at getting his minions to work the social media aspect than with having them actually support the product. You guys need to handle returns and stop the funny business of useless / endless emails begging us to stay, just issue a damn RMA. Also, trying to spring the refurbishment fee on early adopters is sleazy. Please pass this on to your coworkers tidesunfold.
That's funny because I got hit with the same 99 cent fee and when I politely emailed them to inquire about it, not only did they refund me, but they VIPed my account and I have not since got charged for it. I'm actually really excited to get my 3G device next week!
Let me reiterate an important point for the masses, STS Media / FreedomPop / Freedom Pop sucks the big one.
