Sprint Nextel Corp.'s (S) exclusivity agreement with Palm Inc. (PALM) and its Pre smartphone runs through the year, according to a Sprint spokesman.
"We have the Pre through 2009," said spokesman James Fisher.
Verizon Wireless Chief Executive Lowell McAdam told analysts at an investor conference that over the "next six months or so," the carrier would be getting the Pre and a "cousin" device. The disclosure surprised industry watchers, although it could fit Sprint's timeline if McAdam meant six months from the Pre's June 6 launch date. I'm saying if you have a PS3 you already have access to Hulu without paying $40.
Why a browser um maybe I don't want to go back and forth from computer to Tv to watch different shows? Maybe I want to cancel cable and having a browser would be better than trying to stream stuff from my PC to my Tv via the 360. Also I'm sure there are people that like to have internet access without all the hassle of having to deal with a computer. A browser provides that. There are millions of people that don't go on the internet but want to but don't want to mess with a computer. A device that provides easy and simple access would be a big help to these people.

| Re: Is a Hulu Player coming to PlayStation 3? The main reason is security , they have the 360 tied down pretty tight with Hollywood and every one else they and Sony bent over too.
A browser opens a whole world of possible exploits and adds other ways to get media to the 360. MS and hollywood don't want that. -- "It's always funny until someone gets hurt......and then it's absolutely friggin' hysterical!"

| Let's give the man a chance before convicting him. He's certainly saying things in a lot more positive way then Bush & Co, but we'll have to see how the actual DEEDS play out vs just the rhetoric. -- "Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power." -- Benito Mussolini

| Re: Obama Wants To Keep Internet 'Open and free' Sorry, but I'm going to have to blame the CPR on the economy (which actually appears to be working I might add) squarely on the last Administration. I want to see how he budgets going forward.
I suspect he'll not do much because the people won't let him.

No thanks. you can build a nice system for $900 with vista home premium oem about the same price as mac os x.
So it being a POS hard is not true.
The mac mini is a joke for it's price $600 - $800 with only 1gb of ram and a small HD?

| | BitPremium join:2009-02-19 00000 4 edits | Re: Hackintosher to open US storefront Absolutely it would be a noisy piece of shit that WILL break with every OS point release and will have ZERO support by Apple. I just went through "fixing" my Mini 9 after it was broken by 10.5.7 and my netbook runs the same 'native' hardware that the previous gen MacBook did. It wasn't a major problem, but certainly not anything like a true "macintosh experience". Hackint0sh is great to mess around with, but they are far from reliable in the long term and that is a bad thing when the seller is doomed to bankruptcy before even opening its doors. Reliable upgrade to faster and more efficient Snow Leopard due out this year? Forget it.
The Macs are more expensive myth has been done to death here a zillion times and proven to be wrong a zillion times. If you don't think the Mini is a good value, don't buy one. Comparing platforms based solely on hardware isn't accurate, just as comparing processors based on GHz isn't. OS X isn't Vista, you don't need 4GB of RAM and a Core i7 for it to get out of its own way. OS X Leopard runs WAY faster on my Atom than XP SP3 did and Vista would make it cry like a school girl. Meanwhile direct competitors to the Mini like the Studio Hybrid are more expensive just like competitor's all-in-one machines are more expensive than iMacs. The near-silent Micro-PC platform carries a small premium no matter what OS it runs. -- POKE 65495,1

BitPremium join:2009-02-19 00000 | The Value Of VoIP --- ABSOLUTELY, saves me 80% At my business I used to have 5 POTS lines with Verizon. But then with every expiration of my Centrex contract the price would jump double digits. After dropping dial up I was able to but back to 3 POTS lines and still the price was going up faster than I was cutting services.
Now here we are in a major deflationary recession and what did Verizon do? Took another MASSIVE increase. If I renew my contract they will take ONLY a 25% increase, if I don't, the price doubles. So on my 3 business lines with virtually no LD charges I'm close to $250/mo including added services like caller ID and voicemail...yeah, $250/mo for only 3 lines and I barely use them. Their sales people were arrogant in their tone, firm on these massive price increases as if I didn't have a choice.
So I call Megapath who provides my DS1 circuit and ordered Duet (their DS1+VoIP service). For roughly $50 more than I'm currently paying for my COVAD DS1 I am get those same 3 lines with caller ID, voicemail, forwarding, conferencing, etc etc etc. More services with an 80% savings.
$50 or $250...the math is pretty G-D easy and is why Verizon and other telcos continue to bleed POTS customers. And it isn't like they're just a little more expensive...they are insanely greedy with these completely unjustifiable price increases.
I have had this account with Verizon (ex GTE) for well over 25 years and because of their greed and arrogance they will get nothing more. -- POKE 65495,1
