| Re: LOL - Google claims it isn't a monopoly So most people use Google than other similar products and somehow that's bad and something google should stop doing? Last time I checked there is Yahoo and MSN among others. I use Google but I do it by choice. I don't know of a single person FORCED to use Google.
I keep getting told that Charter isn't a monopoly because there are other cable companies even though Charter is the only one legally allowed to operate in my area. So explain that one.

It's a website. There's no compelling reason to go to Google other then someone feels like it.

| Re: LOL - Google claims it isn't a monopoly Google is not a monopoly just because TK Junk Mail tells it is. I'm sorry but what's your reasoning behind it being an monopoly? The web is the only frontier where having a monopoly is impossible at the moment (well until we start having prioritized caps and the stuff you seem to like so much lol) | |

| The only part that might be considered a monopoly in the who thing, would be people say "Google " when they use another search engine.
It's like the whole Replay TV & Tivo thing. Tivo doesn't have a monopoly, but if you were to say Replay to someone, they probably wouldn't know what you were referring to until you said something like "A device like Tivo"

That is TradeMark depreciation due to a TradeMark that belongs to one company being used to cover items from other companies. If I have a device that I place a piece a paper into and it outputs multiple copies of what was printed on that paper, what would this action be called by the normal person? I'd guess that the answer would be Xerox'ing even though the machine was made by some company other than Xerox™. Google as a verb is another case of this type of thing.

But yeah they'll probably make these 'improvements' after getting a ton of incentives. Then probably never follow through on any of their promises and just take their money and be happy :/ . I suppose that is how these companies work though, screw everyone to make some more money. -- HABYA HABYA HABYA TEAR DOWN THE HEMP STALKS EAT UP THE OLD MAN AND WOMAN AND CARRY OFF THE LITTLE GIRL MAY YOU DIE ALONE
