| Class A Must Carry Class A Must-Carry is a very good idea. Of course the cable networks (some owned by cable companies) don't want more competition. Now they really seem to be upset that the FCC has figured out a way (allowing Class A stations to apply for full power status) that is fully within the law and would undoubtedly help the OTA digital transition. | |

| Re: The RIAA's Playbook: No New Business Models Without RIAA Own maybe so but if they ignore certain business models like they did the Internet for so long, they are destine for total failure. them ignoring digital media for as long as they did is why they have so much trouble with online piracy. -- [65 Arcanist]Filan(High Elf) Zone: Broadband Reports | |

| Re: The RIAA's Playbook: No New Business Models Without RIAA Own But they're not ignoring new business models- they want to make sure they control the new business models like they do the old and can make enough money off of them to partially recover from declining CD sales- it's actually a very smart move on the RIAA's part. | |

| the problem is they want too much control, in the CD and earlier era i could play that music on any device as long as it could play that said media type.
in the digital download era the perfect utopia for the RIAA is one in which you would have to purchase a copy for each device. it would be like your DVDs being registered to your living room player and the refusing to run in the Minivan when on a trip. -- [65 Arcanist]Filan(High Elf) Zone: Broadband Reports | |
