Too late to delay it's 2 weeks away. No way Congress could get a delay bill passed in that time even if they wanted too. It's already Friday night so the soonest they could get started in Monday which would be 11 days away. Besides 42% of all stations have already shut off analog.

RE:Cambridge law professor says DRM pushes users to illegal

Leave it to a professor to do a study on a subject that is no longer relevant. Music & videos supplied by iTunes, Amazon, WalMart, etc no longer have DRM. Next, he will study why milk delivered to your door by horse cart is anti-competitive.

Picked up a DVD (or any commercial video product) lately? DRM and fair use are still relevant issues there.

videos certainly DO have DRM on them. And so do DVDs and blu-rays. Please try READING an article before commenting.

this is where my issue with the DMCA comes in. its like building a freeway with a limit of 75mph(Fair Use), selling cars governed to 55mph(DRM), and passing a law making it illegal to remove the speed limiter(DMCA).

in short one law says yes you can but you have to break another to be allowed to still follow the previous.

that said personal ripping/decrypting(violation of the DMCA) for backup/HTPC usage is about as bad as going 66 in a 65 on a clear dry day with no traffic.
