Re: Dish, Foxhas finally settle four-year-old suit over Hopper DVR, Dish agreesIf people want something for free they are supposed to get it? Is that the theory? If a kid wants cake for breakfast they are supposed to get it? entitlement generation. Just because you want something doesn't make it a good idea.

Re: Dish, Foxhas finally settle four-year-old suit over Hopper DVR, Dish agreesCustomers subscribe to Dish and the price they are charged covers more than just the cost to keep the birds in the right orbit. Although the content prices Dish passes through to customers likely assume the commercials are viewed, I don't think it's fair to accuse the OP of being entitled and asking for a free lunch.

Who's asking for something for free? How is it entitlement to use a device as it was built and sold to you? How is it a free lunch when the only way to do this is by paying a fairly steep monthly fee? It seems like you're trying to equate skipping commercials with theft. This is untrue, and has been ruled completely legal since the days of betamax.
When a business model relies on the law to keep customers paying, they must not have a good product. I miss the days when companies made better products when they wanted more customers, not strong arming them to force the dollars to flow.

"Free" for all.Well Google Fiber at least recognizes one can't build a viable business on "free". The illusion of free, maybe.
