Genes tied to risk of alcoholism, depression (old news - 01:11PM Tuesday May 01 2001)
WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- Researchers said Tuesday that they had pinpointed the genetic home of some people's predisposition for alcoholism or depression, illnesses that run in some families.
My dad was an alcoholic and he suffered from PTSD. His sister had a nervous breakdown. My mother-in-law committed suicide 17 years ago. My daughter has depression. I suffer from Bi-Polar II. My psychiatrist has told me that depression runs in families. I was saddened to learn that my daughter has depression. I was hoping it would skip her.

My grandfather, my brother, and only cousin are alcoholics. I was skipped. I pray that my children will not have the same problem with it.... -- MILK..... The Utter Cola....
