1 edit | US PSP users no joy - these aren't coming to US Looks like Sony and BT have big plans for the PSP and PS3 around the world. But when you read the news stories, it looks like the only thing that may make it to the US is the GPS Nav system. -- -- Internet News My BLOG My Web Page

My opinion, inventing something (as a partner company, btw) and licensing that invention... and purchasing the product from another manufacturer, is a bit different.
Just because Microsoft invented the "smiley" (smirk), doesn't mean I'd stop posting on forums and using them if I wished to boycott their products and / or services! =S -- Respectfully, X_Digit

You've been through 2 Slim line PS2's? You mean the ones that are like 5 years younger then my perfectly working old ass dusted PS2?
Don't mean to pick on you, but on internet message boards, this is the norm; some crazy ass problem going wrong with PSx's, PS2's, PSP's, PS3's...but ain't a damn thing wrong with a Wii. Lol.
It seems to me, uhh, most you guys go off-roading with your PS2's? lol. get the hell outa here with that..lol

So you went through 2 slim PS2's...no more Sony products?
They hit nail to head; so the products gotta have a Sony sticker on it for you "not to buy it"? You've been schooled on many electronics that got Sony ish in em, and well, I guess too you gotta throw all that "crap" away, huh...:)

| Nice trick Who the F&*k would want a GPS positioning device in a toy? What purpose does it serve other than to track you?
Talk about an invasion of ones privacy. There is certainly enough heated debate on privacy as it is. Now a corporate giant rolls out a gimmick to trick people, into accepting a new ploy designed to get one comfortable with big brother watching, every place one takes his shiny new toy. -- Come on crazy mutant desert men, just because they got Jr. in the car doesn't mean they have Bud on the car.

Can we all have some?
The purpose of the GPS (IMO) is not to beef up timmy toddlers tricycle with HID Lights, Viper alarm system and DVD in the back seat;
Its a game system that already has alot of the capabilties that you find in most modern day GPS systems (MP3 Playback, alot of useless stuff except..well...navigation). I know many people, myself included, who would gladly purchase a car mount and use this GPS style to navigate city streets.
Granted, this in car system will probably use an in car power adapter. Do you really think sony can produce a device that will perform voyeristic transmissions of your current location any time the psp is still functioning properly (24h/7d charged or not..) Last i checked, mine only gets 1.5 hours of action w/ the backlight on low.
But whatever. | |

said by SlickEnW : The purpose of the GPS (IMO) is not to beef up timmy toddlers tricycle with HID Lights, Viper alarm system and DVD in the back seat Sounds as if that would be an expensive toy to mount on a tricycle for Timmy. Those other features, are they standard or optional equipment?

Does one really need a GPS to navigate city streets where one resides? City maps and mapquest are a heck of a lot cheaper. The thrill or sense of adventure, of maybe getting lost along the way from point A to point B. Then finding the correct route the old fashioned way, greatly changes the look one would get from the wife, when telling her, honey we are completely lost. LOL

| GPS? Maybe you'll take it out of the car.... I think the best thing about GPS on the PSP is that unlike the garmen, TomTom, etc devices today, since the PSP can be used for other things, you might remember to take it out of the car.

GPS in a PSP, hell that shit sounds great. A PSP can be had for 150-200 bucks easy. Same as a tom-tom. But without a whiteguy telling you where to turn. Which one is the better buy? lol

Its a harsh reality to deal with inhaling all that crack smoke.
You have a problem with a portable hand held gaming device getting called a toy, take it up with the person who wrote the article describing it as a toy in headline.
As for the useless features in a PSP? Go back an re-read as many times as needed to understand Eddyisgreat made that comment not I. Whats a matta U? having issues following & reading correctly?
Seeing as you mentioned the XBox360/PS3 "gaming consoles". I agree they are semi PC, relating to the CPU chip and a HD. I guess they can be called a toy. Kids love them, but, did you notice how the adults acted worse than 12 years olds, when the PS3 went on sale.
Bottom line, a PSP is a hand held electronic toy. -- Come on crazy mutant desert men, just because they got Jr. in the car doesn't mean they have Bud on the car.

Yes I am well aware of that fact of cell phones. Feel free to call cell phones whatever you wish. I did not say cell phones are toys. I called a toy a toy. When I had the PSP I thought it would be awesome to have a little device like that with GPS. Excellent screen, pretty small, but big enough you could mount it in your car. Plus it's not nearly as expensive as an in-dash unit, and it's still portable.. so moving from car to car would be pretty easy. -- »www.cardomain.com/id/travisbguy
