Google Fiber says the company will be launching ultra-fast gigabit service in select, unspecified parts of Irvine, California. In a Facebook post, the company says it will be deploying Google Fiber to some apartment communities and small businesses in Irvine, starting with properties near existing fiber infrastructure. Irvine joins Atlanta and several other markets where Google Fiber has started offering service over existing fiber infrastructure in order to speed up availability as the company slowly builds out fiber to new areas.
