Google Nabs Drone Maker Facebook Sought to Buy
by Karl Bode 06:24PM Monday Apr 14 2014
A few weeks ago we noted how Facebook was considering buying drone maker Titan Aerospace, with a specific eye on using drones to deliver broadband in developing countries. Facebook won't be getting that chance, as the Wall Street Journal reports that Google has snapped up the company instead. A purchase price wasn't disclosed, but Google did state that the drone company would work closely with those involved in Google's broadband-by-balloon "Loon" initiative.

I'd argue that one, but it would be like fighting over crap and shit.

Its for the patents

Sure we get told they want to use drones, But honestly to me I think its for the patents. Google knows if they snap up all these drone, robot and automation companies now while they are young they will be holding the patent cards when it comes time to cash in.

Just imagine now when Apple tries to say launch iControl, Google busts out the Nest patents and sues them.
