Google Patches Nexus One 3G Reception Issue
Software patch being pushed to Nexus One phones today
That Google Nexus One 3G coverage fix Google support told annoyed customers was coming has finally arrived. According to the Google Nexus One blog, users should start seeing a firmware update pushed to their phones today. The update does a number of things including providing multi-touch functionality, though Google also notes the update "will provide a general fix to help improve 3G connectivity on some Nexus One phones." If you're still having wireless broadband connectivity issues after you apply the patch, you'll just have to blame T-Mobile's HSDPA network.

The multi-touch capability most desired

It is adding the multi-touch capability to all the basic functions that will be most appreciated. Users will no longer have to hack their Nexus One phones to get what should have been there from day one.

If your talking about pinch to zoom on a webpage, the Dolphin web browser has it.

Edit: Nevermind I guess..seems Google has added that to the stock N1 browser.

One software update will fix everything?

You know, there might still be bugs in the code after this update regarding T-Mobile's robust 3G network.

The true test will be having a G1 or MT3G side-by-side to the N1 and see if the reception is similar.

Nobody was putting a gun to your head forcing you to go with T-Mobile.

Haha. I have never had Sprint PCS, I have NEXTEL still for work at 911. I have AT&T which has fabulous 3G coverage on 850mhz here.

I'm gonna laugh my ass off if you use ATT. It's taking TMO 2 years to build a network the same size as ATT's after 6 years.

Really? Go compare the maps.

I did a month or two back and posted them in regards to another one of Gbcue's troll "Robust T-Mobile 3G" post but he hey modded it and got it deleted.

I have. Many times.
Maybe you are incapable of distinguishing their native coverage from their roaming? Their national map doesn't show the difference, but zoom in a single step, and you'll see that their own native coverage is hardly much better than TMO's - even with 850.
They roam just as much as TMO - whether your handset says it or not.

»Re: It's the network
Same gaps in coverage. Same roaming partners.
The only difference is ad campaigns.

T-Mobile's still isn't close to the size of even AT&T's. And AT&T has something T-Mobile never will, 850mhz 3G. In building coverage is so so much better around here with AT&T, especially rural area's. We still have GPRS with T-Mobile here
