| Re: Ads on my cellphone - no thanks Based on Google's request that the new spectrum allow devices that can be loaded with any applications the consumer wants to add, and that the same will be true with a Google phone, I would say we can reasonably expect to see and AdMuncher/AdBlock show up. | |

But then again you may have another income than me. I am a soon-to-be college student working a part-time and income is limited.

1 edit | Google is pretty smart about their ad business. I'd be shocked if they tried the audible ads method. Many a focus group would find that VERY displeasing. Ads will be displayed on the screen, and they will be able to target them geographically. So if a store nearby is running a sale, an ad will occupy the top banner of your phone telling you there's a store nearby with a sale going on. If ads are annoying they can have negative effects, which the people paying for them know, and google knows as well.

@cgocable.net | Re: Dont like ads... $30 a month with ad's is better than the Canada plan where you are afraid to use it because you might accidentalkly leave it connected and have to sell your car to pay the bill.

@comcast.net | ? I like google search and youtube, I don't use gmail or their IM product ..... I'm not sure a phone would be a good idea, sometimes you see companies try to please the investors so much that they lose sight of what the do best.

| Audible ads. . . Are downright annoying and some sites load the same audio"banner" click after click. like that annoying ipod nano one. I for one wouldn't mind the ads if the service was totally free(no limit on minutes, free long distance within USA and canada) you just buy the phone. -- You can never be too rich, too thin or have too much Bandwidth | |
