Maybe he is just trying to goose interest because he hyped Skype as being this good deal for eBay. And we all know how that worked out. Maybe he hopes Google will salvage his rep. -- My BLOG .. .. Internet News .. .. My Web Page

| Great idea I think this would be a great opportunity for both Google and Skype. Skype is a great application to communicate with friends and family all over the world. Also, since Google is the #1 search engine, this will potentially accelerate Skype towards the mainstream. | |

| | Skype? Google? Not a Match Sorry, but until Skype works standalone on a terminal adapter, not requiring a PC or proprietary hardware, it doesn't matter who owns them. | |

I use Skype on a daily basis and personally think that if this becomes more than a rumor it would be a good thing. Just think about it, with the Ad revenue, Skype In or Out can possibly become cheaper... or free.

| | | Re: But wait! They did....but Grand Central by itself doesn't allow you to make calls. It still requires a dialtone at both ends, one for you, one for your end user.
Now if there were some horrifyingly masterful meshing of GrandCentral and Skype....competitors will fall.
