| Great idea I think this would be a great opportunity for both Google and Skype. Skype is a great application to communicate with friends and family all over the world. Also, since Google is the #1 search engine, this will potentially accelerate Skype towards the mainstream. | |

 VOIP Me Not
@rr.com | Skype? Google? Not a Match Sorry, but until Skype works standalone on a terminal adapter, not requiring a PC or proprietary hardware, it doesn't matter who owns them.

| Re: Skype? Google? Not a Match The part you're failing to see is that Google has the mean$$$ to make that happen. I use Skype on a daily basis and personally think that if this becomes more than a rumor it would be a good thing. Just think about it, with the Ad revenue, Skype In or Out can possibly become cheaper... or free. | |

| Re: But wait! They did....but Grand Central by itself doesn't allow you to make calls. It still requires a dialtone at both ends, one for you, one for your end user.
Now if there were some horrifyingly masterful meshing of GrandCentral and Skype....competitors will fall.
