Hulu Eyes Mobile Platform
Company's business plans may be better than people thought
by KathrynV Thursday 17-Apr-2008 tags: Video · business · wireless · alternatives · content
Online video site Hulu has seen a lot of success since it moved out of beta last month. However, many say that the site is ultimately doomed to fail because of a business plan that includes a lack of content ownership and a small demand for revenue. But perhaps the people running the business have a few tricks up their sleeves because the CEO recently hinted that Hulu has the potential to move off the PC and on to other Internet platforms. Specifically, it appears that the company may be interested in taking advantage of the growing use of mobile broadband to bring Hulu to cell phones. He also provided listeners with more detail about the inner workings of the business including the company’s attention to every detail from font selection to white space with the end goal being to provide the Hulu user with an “atypical user experience” that will keep people coming back for more.

Needs download & transfer capability

I like the Hulu web site and I like a lot of the old comedy series that it carries from the 80's & 90's.

But I wish I had the ability to have legal download and transfer capability so that I could transfer a couple episodes to my Nokia N810 internet tablet. That way I could watch an episode while waiting at the car dealership or doctors office when they don't have WiFi internet access.

It's still locked to a PC. I just want the ability to stream it to a media center extender device so I can watch it on my TV.

I like it!

Was turned onto Hulu a couple of weeks ago. I like it! Loads of content, free, good connection/video. All that it should be!

How about..

instead of mobile, start supporting network media players. I have a popcorn a-100, and it can do youtube because they provide h.264 videos. Hulu should do the same. I don't know if theres a way to do commercials, but I'd assume they could use a playlist file for that, so they'd still get ad revenue.
