Hulu and Spotify have joined forces on a new promotion that provides users with access to both services for a discounted rate. The promotional plan, creatively-dubbed "Spotify Premium, now with Hulu," combines a full Spotify a la carte subscription with Hulu's entry-level on-demand service for $12.99 per month. "Based on the outstanding performance of the Spotify and Hulu student package, it’s clear that consumers love to combine their music and television experiences together," Hulu said in a statement. Those interested in kicking the wheels on the new promotion can head here for more details and to sign up.
Price seems reasonable with this bundle. But for $13 with added commercials won't keep users subscribing for long. Hulu must be getting desperate as more and more people flock to Netflix.
So as a Spotify Premium member I decided to sign up for this yesterday. Basically it's like a trial run for me at 99 cents for the first 3 months. This was my first time ever using Hulu so all of the TV show selections were new to me. The only thing I dont like is the fact there are adverts that take forever to load. I wish there was some option for us to upgrade to an ad-free experience without signing up for a full blown plan on the Hulu site.
This Spotify combination is highly restrictive in the sense that you can't purchase any addons to your Hulu service.
